John,
As I’ve knocked doors and visited with neighbors, there’s been a common theme: Our community cares fiercely for one another.

We cannot stand by and allow chaos, fear, and lawlessness rip apart the very fabric of our country under the guise of “public safety.” There’s nothing safe about any of this. The unconditional and unconscionable actions of ICE agents in Minnesota must be stopped.
The actions of our federal government and ICE have severely undermined public trust. Federal security forces have been deployed with little transparency and limited accountability, often with covered faces and without the identification or procedural safeguards that Americans expect from law enforcement.

Here in Delaware, we’ve taken action to protect the rights of every Delawarean:
- HB 96 - Requires reporting on any request by federal officials for sensitive data of Delaware residents
- HB 142 - Prohibits warrant less arrests in Delaware if an individual is accused in another state.
- HB 151 - Prohibits private detention facilities.
- HB 152 - Makes it a crime to impersonate federal officials including ICE.
- HB 153- Prohibits citizens’ arrests.
- HB 182 - Prohibits local law enforcement from entering into agreements with ICE.
Safety thrives in respect and compassion, and in accountability and sunlight. I will always fight for policies that will keep our community safe and without fear. Because caring for one another shouldn’t be this hard.

Keep showing up for one another with kindness and resilience. We’re doing things differently in the First State and I am grateful you’re with me on this journey.
Best,
Krista
