*Notice to State Scallop License holders and stakeholders: *
Good morning,
A Scallop Advisory Council meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 5 p.m. at the Sorrento/Sullivan Community Center. [ [link removed] ]
The meeting will focus on an apprenticeship framework to recommend to the Commissioner for consideration in upcoming rulemaking.
The Council has been discussing this topic over the last six months and have developed a draft framework that is a combination of time-at-sea plus safety course requirements. Public input would be greatly appreciated by the Council members as they finalize the program elements.
