February 2026 New Member Orientation
If you have joined our chapter recently and haven’t had a chance to attend an event yet, the new member orientation is a great opportunity to learn about our theory of change the history of DSA and to meet other new members. This is not a new member exclusive event! Whether you need a refresher on the basics, want to welcome new members, or just haven’t been to a DSA event in a while this is a welcoming space for all.

Socialist Education Committee ABCs of Socialism Reading Group
Our Socialist Education Committee are starting up a winter reading group series, starting with the ABCs of Socialism. The reading group for this book will continue on for the next several weeks. If you need access to the text, it's available for free online.

- Fresh off the winter break our comrades over at Sacramento State are painting the campus red!
- Hornets YDSA is back and holding regular meeting with events planned for the semester like teach-ins, trainings, and screenings! If you or someone you know is attending Sac State this Spring semester plug in with the on campus action!

- If you don't go to Sac State but want to start a YDSA on your campus our organizers are ready to help!
- Website redesign!
- The Communications committee has decided to revamp our chapter website! If you have recommendations for a better user experience or have technical abilities you would like to lend, send us an email!
- Don't forget about Mutual Aid Mondays!
- Join the Mutual Aid Committee on Feb. 16th @ 5:30 PM for our next Mutual Aid Monday meal & supply distribution! We meet at the corner of 10th & I St. at Cesar Chavez Park. Come find out what we're all about and how you can get involved! We have a variety of ways for you to help out in person.
