John,
This week, I announced my Lower Prices for All Wisconsinites agenda, starting with the issue I’ve spent my career fighting for: making health care more affordable for every Wisconsin family.
We do the right things — go to school, work hard, raise a family — and one unexpected bill can tip a month into crisis. As a nurse and working mom who’s traveled all 72 counties as Lieutenant Governor, I’ve seen Wisconsin families delay care, skip prescriptions, and choose between child care and work because costs keep climbing.
My affordability agenda tackles those connected pressures with practical changes to give people real stability and breathing room and delivers:
-
Expanded access to health care by finishing Medicaid expansion
-
Lower child care costs
-
Less expensive prescriptions
-
Lower property taxes for Wisconsin residents
-
Affordable and accessible child care for working families
|
My plan to Lower Health Care Prices as Wisconsin’s Governor:
I will launch BadgerChoice, a Wisconsin public option that will use the state’s bargaining power to lower prescription costs, rein in hospital bills, and expand access to mental health and postpartum care.
I will deliver a Wisconsin Health Care Bill of Rights to permanently protect people with pre-existing conditions, ban surprise billing, end lifetime and annual limits, and strengthen hospital financial assistance.

Here’s my promise: As Governor, I won’t stop fighting until health care works for Wisconsin families.
