Coming together and telling each other stories is an essential form
of connection and trust-building. This form of entertainment is as old
as language itself, and provides comfort, cohesion, and meaning for
all gathered, especially when the world feels threatening and
fractured.
In these fractured times, when true community feels hard to come
by, intentional gatherings that feature shared stories requires
vulnerability and trust, binding us together with the glue of
friendship, common ground, and connection.
Join us for this special Local Peace Economy gathering, where we
will welcome Matthew Rudnicki, the founder of “My
Dentist's Son,” a story-telling circle in Vermont that
focuses on stories that “don't fit” – those that sit outside of
consensus reality and give us glimpses into what might be
possible. You will hear from him how and why he
started this circle, what he has learned from it, and how you might
begin a circle to build connective tissue in your own
community.
