In one week, we will close the books on our final FEC fundraising deadline before the primary.

This deadline is unique to our race based on Texas’ March 3 primary. It’s intended to give the public one more look at how these campaigns are being funded.

That means after the deadline, we are legally required to report our fundraising numbers publicly. Whether the numbers are good or bad, we will do it.

Our hope is, of course, to produce the strongest numbers possible. We want to send a powerful message about the grassroots strength of this movement — to show that lots and lots of folks like you are fueling this fight while our opponents rely on corporate and billionaire mega-donors to prop their campaigns up.

Everyone is going to be watching. If there is any sign of weakness, the corporate and billionaire donors who want to defeat James could swoop in at the last minute to try to drown us out.

This is a big deal. We need to go into early voting in the strongest position possible — that requires resources and grassroots momentum.
