Good afternoon Jack,

Education freedom is not a distant policy debate — it’s unfolding in real time in Mississippi.

While school choice legislation did not advance in the Senate this week, the conversation around education freedom is far from over. In many ways, this moment makes our upcoming Education Freedom luncheon on February 10 even more timely — offering space to unpack what happened, why it stalled, and what comes next.

We’re honored to welcome Corey DeAngelis, one of the nation’s most influential voices on school choice. Corey has worked in states across the country where education reform efforts initially failed, only to return stronger and more successful in future sessions. His perspective on how reform movements navigate resistance — and ultimately succeed — brings critical context to Mississippi’s current moment.

This conversation will also feature Mississippi leaders who are advancing education freedom on the ground and understand the realities of policy change in our state:
* Starla Brown, State Director of Americans for Prosperity Mississippi, leading grassroots efforts to turn ideas into action
* Lindsey Beckham, State Chair and Legislative Chair for Moms for Liberty, elevating parent voices across Mississippi
* Leah Ferretti, Director of Mississippi Ready, focused on expanding education options for Mississippi families
