You are the bedrock of our work and the reason we can keep going.

Friend,
We want to take a moment to thank you for being a true advocate in the movement for justice, especially at a time when attacks on our civil and human rights are persistent.
The Southern Poverty Law Center has relied on supporters like you to power our work for over 50 years, leading to major victories — and getting us closer to achieving what the pioneers of the Civil Rights Movement once envisioned.
But our work does not stop. It takes years of relentless work to get justice.
Here’s just one example of your impact: Katie Rinderle was unfairly terminated from her position as a schoolteacher in Cobb County, Georgia, in May 2023 after reading My Shadow Is Purple to her class — a picture book promoting inclusivity selected by her students and purchased at the school’s book fair. Thanks to you, the SPLC is currently representing Rinderle as she challenges the school board’s decision.

Grassroots movements require long-term support to build a strong infrastructure needed to challenge white supremacy. That means addressing real-world systemic injustice through the SPLC’s legal expertise, investigative reporting, grassroots partnerships and public education.
And with your help, we are doing just that. Here are some more examples of the power of your support. 👇
📢 We are mobilizing a new coalition of deeply engaged voters across the region. Through our decade-long partnerships with nonprofit groups across the Deep South, we are reaching rural voters, young voters of color and communities that have long been underrepresented.
🏛️ Our mighty policy team works diligently to defend American families from cruel legislation by pushing back against cuts to lifesaving programs like SNAP and Medicaid that millions rely on.
📚 Our Intelligence Project provides critical research and analysis of extremists — exposing the conspiracy theories and far-right ideologies behind violent acts, while working to prevent youth radicalization and supporting victims of extremist violence.
⚖️ Our legal team is helping residents in Jackson, Mississippi, get access to clean water — a fundamental human right that has been long denied in the Deep South.
We cannot do this work without you, Friend.
Since 1971, we’ve relied on donations from everyday people who believe in the promise of this country — people who believe that diversity is our greatest strength and that together we are stronger when we vehemently oppose hate.
Thank you again for showing up during the most critical times.
In solidarity,
— Your friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center
