2025 Retiree Tax Information
Retirees receiving funds from Wespath retirement plans are allowed to treat some of the income as “housing.” This means the income will not be taxable under the Internal Revenue Code. For this to happen, the Annual Conference must adopt a resolution allowing retirees to make the designation. We do this each year in session.
For 2025's tax year, the Retiree Housing Resolution is found on page 161 of the 2025 Journal. Simply provide the resolution to your tax preparer or, if preparing yourself, retain a copy for your records. Wespath can also be helpful in understanding the tax implications of your pension. Contact them at 1-800-851-2201.
