Hello John,

As you may have seen in the news, the Trump administration is sending ICE to the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics despite widespread pushback. As Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala told the press: "This is a militia that kills, a militia that enters into the homes of people, signing their own permission slips. It is clear they are not welcome in Milan, without a doubt."

Angelenos should expect the same resolve from LA28 and the City of Los Angeles. 

If LA28 truly stands for Los Angeles, Casey Wasserman—and any board members who believe in basic human dignity and fairness—must SPEAK UP or STEP DOWN. LA28 must demand that ICE and all other immigration enforcement agencies be excluded from the Games and from the region as a whole.

The Fair Games Coalition comprises more than 80 organizations including unions, community organizations and religious institutions. Together, we’re demanding that the New Deal for the Games include union and living wage jobs to support families, affordable housing, including funding for 50,000 new units of housing for working families and a moratorium on Airbnb-style tourist rentals that take housing off the market, fair and dignified treatment of immigrant communities and transparency and accountability.
