Senator Chris Murphy here. I’m excited to share that I will be hosting an exclusive briefing with the DNC on Wednesday, February 11, at 5 PM ET.

I won’t mince words — our democracy is under threat. Donald Trump spent his first year in office making corrupt deals in Washington and overwhelming the American people with chaos, lies, and lawless grifting.

Now, ICE has unleashed a dystopian campaign of violence and chaos in Minnesota, killing two American citizens and detaining hundreds of people, including children.

But what should frighten every American is how enthusiastically the Trump administration is lying about what’s happening in Minneapolis. After CBP agents murdered Alex Pretti, they labeled him a “domestic terrorist” who was "brandishing” a weapon. Those are lies. Alex wasn't attending a "riot.”He was an ICU nurse exercising his constitutional rights.

We do not need to accept this. We are not powerless.

Each of us has the power to speak out, organize in our communities, and support the Democratic Party to help build an opposition movement strong enough to slam the brakes on Trump’s agenda and take back Congress.

That’s why I’m having this conversation with you. What we’re facing right now is not business as usual. We need to be prepared to fight as hard as we can in the 2026 midterms, and we need you in this fight with us.
