Yesterday, I was hustling between meetings when my team sent me a clip from MS NOW. They said, “You’re going to want to see this.”
– A senior national political reporter at Politico was talking about Michigan’s Senate race when he said something brief, but important.
He called me the front-runner.
This is big. But it’s not about me.
I’m sharing this because of what it represents: Momentum like this doesn’t come from one speech, one headline, or one person. It comes from doggedness. From unglamorous work. From showing up for Michiganders again and again, even when the news is chaotic, you’re exhausted, and the days feel long.
In other words, it comes from you.
This grassroots team has stepped up time and time again. You’ve pushed me, lifted me, and inspired me to fight every day for Michiganders who want steady leadership – leadership that’s focused on getting things done and on using government to actually make working people’s lives better.
I’m deeply grateful for your quiet optimism, belief, and strength.
We’re not the loudest campaign. We’re not the flashiest. We’re not the most “viral.” But we’re the front-runner because we’re built by hardworking Michiganders – people who are ready for something better.
That’s the energy behind this campaign.
So when a national reporter analyzes this race and sees a front-runner, they’re talking about all of us. The teachers and nurses. The autoworkers and retirees. The small-business owners and students. The people who are busting their tails every day and deserve someone who will fight for them in the U.S. Senate.
That’s what’s being recognized.
The truth is this race is going to be close. New polling shows we’re statistically tied with our MAGA Republican opponent. But moments like this are reminders that the work matters – and that it’s adding up.
We’re building something real here. Not flashy. Not fueled by billionaires. Built the Michigan way: shoulder to shoulder, steadily, with grit.
And yes, I believe we can win.
Not because an analyst said so on TV. But because I know what this grassroots team is capable of.
