United Nations: The world has entered an era of ‘global water bankruptcy’

These are scary words coming from the leading international governmental organization. Their new report says that 75% of the world’s population are currently water insecure, and 2 billion people live on land that is sinking as groundwater aquifers collapse.

This is why it’s so important that we have SEEC members in Congress fighting to protect our clean water and stop big polluters from getting a free pass.

The lead author of the report Kaveh Madani said, “It’s extremely urgent [because] no one knows exactly when the whole system would collapse.” And if the global water system collapses, you can imagine what sort of other impacts would shortly follow – wars, famines, events too scary to look in the face.
