Americans have had enough of ICE’s continued occupation of cities like Minneapolis and the daily harm they’ve inflicted upon local communities. And they want leaders in Congress to step up. Susan J. Demas and Edwin Eisendrath highlighted the upcoming vote in the House on a funding package today that would reopen the government and allow for additional debate on how to proceed with ICE funding.
"I‘m proud of the Senate. They came around, you know, they said no, and they took a vote. Every Democrat voted to rescind that money. Didn’t go anywhere, but they were going to spend it on, you know, to shore up health care instead. And the House has got to be just as tough,” noted Edwin.
The conversation also turned to the latest batch of Epstein files that DOJ released, which include the names of dozens of victims.
“I have to say, my entire weekend, I was just really devastated after reading the latest dump of the Epstein files. I mean, obviously, there is the continued humiliation of the survivors. That is the worst of the worst. But it really peeled back the curtain about how power in this country has worked,” Susan said, noting how many members of Trump’s orbit were in the documents, from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to Elon Musk.

And does MAGA care? “They were more upset about Cracker Barrel changing its logo than they are about their conspiracy theory basically being proven correct,” she said.
