Black History Month Walking Tour

Join AYD and the Arlington Democrats Black Caucus for a guided walking tour through Old Town Alexandria led by Manumission Tour Company.
Manumission curates cultural heritage walking tours highlighting Alexandria’s extensive African American history—sharing stories of Africans and African-Americans, both enslaved and free, and the city’s role in the domestic slave trade. Space is limited, so sign-up here!

SENATE SPECIAL ELECTION IN SOUTH ARLINGTON

|
|
Next Tuesday, February 10th is the special election to replace Senator Adam Ebbin. Delegate Elizabeth Bennett-Parker is the Democratic nominee in SD-39. This district represents parts of Arlington (Crystal City, Pentagon City and Aurora Hills). Please see below for information on early voting, and if you live in the district make sure to cast your ballot on or before next Tuesday!

VAYD CONVENTION ANNOUNCEMENT
|
|
|
|
The Virginia Young Democrats have recently announced that their 2026 annual convention will take place from March 27-29 in Norfolk! This is a great opportunity to connect with Young Dems from across the Commonwealth and have your voice be heard in VAYD's leadership reorganization.
This year, AYD aims to cover the cost of in-person registration and lodging of the first 25 AYD dues-paying members who sign up. If you are interested in joining the Arlington delegation, you can find more details and sign-up here!

We are hoping to send a robust delegation to this year’s convention. Delegates will be voting on resolutions, VAYD Leadership, along with connecting and learning from fellow Young Dems from across the Commonwealth.
However, to do that, we need your assistance. We are aiming to raise $4,000 to help pay for the registration and accommodations for our Arlington Young Democrats. If you are interested in supporting our delegation, you can find more information here.

DUES AND FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES

Please make sure to pay your AYD Membership Dues! Membership dues help cover monthly membership meetings, social events, campaign activities, and other AYD-related activities.
If you are in a position to help AYD on a more consistent basis, consider becoming an AYD annual sponsor! Rather than individually sponsor AYD events, our annual sponsorship allows for individuals to sponsor AYD for the entire calendar year and earn perks at all major AYD events. AYD relies on the support of our wonderful sponsors to continue being one of the best performing YD chapters in the Commonwealth. You can find more info here!
