The New Republic Reports On PCCC Poll Memo Showing Graham Platner
With Consistently Giant Lead In Maine Senate Race
Reporting today from The New Republic features our new [ [link removed] ]memo calling out
"bogus polling" in Maine’s U.S. Senate race.
All credible polls show oyster farmer Graham Platner crushing it in the
Democratic primary in Maine. Our latest poll shows him defeating incumbent
governor Janet Mills by 20 points! He’s also neck and neck with Republican
Susan Collins in the general election, on the verge of FLIPPING a key
Senate seat!
This lead is validated by Platner’s 2:1 fundraising advantage in federal
campaign finance reports released this week – raising $4.6 million in late
2025 compared to Mills’ $2.7 million.
But, our memo shows how bogus surveys are being used to muddy a very clear
picture.
The memo calls out EMILYs List polling that The New Republic reports "did
not contain negative" attacks on Mills, but only one-sided negative
attacks on Platner – and then asks voters who they support. That’s
ridiculous.
The "PCCC poll found that Platner’s support went up when negatives were
tested on both," writes The New Republic, referencing our recent
[ [link removed] ]primary election polling showing Platner’s 20-point primary lead
increases to 24 points after voters hear strong attacks on him and hear
that Mills vetoed a wealth tax, pro-worker legislation, and mandatory rape
kit testing.
[ [link removed] ]Can you chip in $3 (or $30 if you can) to Graham Platner’s campaign to
ensure he has the resources it takes to reach undecided voters early and
often?
As PCCC co-founder Adam Green told reporters today, "A lot of garbage
polling is being used to muddy a very clear reality, and it needs to be
called out. It’s clear that Mills’ veto of a wealth tax, pro-worker
legislation, and mandatory rape kit testing is a political anchor in both
the primary and general because it hurts the lives of voters in a
kitchen-table way."
Dasha Burns, White House reporter for Politico, explains Platner’s appeal
this way: "People are, in this moment, looking for maybe rougher around
the edges candidates. I mean, you look at Graham Platner in Maine, right?
That guy has a ton of baggage and yet voters are still really attracted to
him because he feels like a real person."
Sending a candidate to the general election who can actually defeat Susan
Collings is crucial. Flipping this seat puts Dems one step closer to
taking back the Senate – and stopping the Republican rubber stamp of
Trump’s brutality and corruption.
But for that to happen, Graham Platner’s campaign must have the resources
to fight back and clear the air from the bogus polls being used against
him.
