March 24, 10:00 - 11:00 AM Searching for Information on Sewer System Spills
Ever wonder what happens when sewage from sewer systems is released to the environment from heavy rainfall, blocked sewers, or equipment malfunction? Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) and Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) can impact water quality and public health. These events are required to be reported to EGLE and made available to the public.
In this webinar, you’ll learn how to use MiEnviro Portal, Michigan’s environmental data portal, to:
- Find CSO and SSO event reports quickly and easily.
- Understand the causes and potential impacts of these events.

Join us for an informative session on BeachGuard for beach water quality information. This webinar will show you how to easily search for details about Michigan’s public beaches, including:
- Water Quality Sampling Results – Learn how to access recent and historical data on E. coli testing and other water quality indicators.
- Beach Advisories and Closures – Find out how to check for current advisories or closures to plan your visit safely.
- Navigation Tips – Guidance on using MiEnviro Portal to locate beaches, interpret results, and understand what they mean for public health.
