Friend,
Gas and electric utility companies such as Washington Gas and Light, Baltimore Gas & Electric, Potomac Electric Power Company, and others are currently allowed to charge YOU for their corporate lobbying, bonuses for executives, and private jets.
Senate Bill 2 puts a stop to this practice – because average Marylanders should NOT be financially responsible for funding executive perks.
SB2 is the right thing to do – but it’s opposed by the usual suspects in the corporate energy business. So we’re asking you to help us fight back.
If you have been affected by high energy bills and are opposed to financing gas and electric company executives, submit written testimony by 6 PM today, Tuesday February 3rd to make your voice heard at the SB0002 Senate hearing this Thursday, February 5th at 1 PM using the following steps:
- MAKE A COPY of this document (File>Make A Copy)
-
NAME the document “SB0002_FAV_FirstName_LastName”
- EDIT the yellow-highlighted areas
-
EMAIL the file (PDF preferred) to [email protected] by 4 PM EST TODAY, Tuesday, February 3rd
Whether or not you can send in written testimony today, please join us next Thursday, February 12th, from 6:00-7:00 pm EST to learn about the upcoming environmental justice policies and initiatives we are pushing to hold polluting corporations accountable. We will provide an overview of topics ranging from energy affordability to cumulative impacts legislation, to Baltimore City budget advocacy, to strategizing about shutting down the BRESCO incinerator.
