During the event, we will outline our powerful Movement Politics program to elect people-powered candidates up and down the ballot and defeat Donald Trump. In addition to launching weekly text banking and phone banking, we
will introduce five newly launched national distributed teams that will help drive work to support our member organizations: Movement Politics Leadership Team, Advance Call Team, Advance Text Team, Data Team and Slack / Event Moderation Team.
Our Movement Politics program is stronger than ever. Since 2016, People’s Action has helped elect over 350 people, including people like Ross Grooters, a member of Iowa CCI who is a train engineer and a member of the Pleasant Hill Iowa City Council, Nelsie Yang, a member of Take Action Minnesota who was recently sworn in as the first Hmong woman and the youngest-ever member on the St. Paul City Council, and Lt Governor Mandela Barnes, a member of Citizen Action of Wisconsin and the first Black person elected to statewide office.
