Dear John,
In January 2025, violent clashes erupted in Goma, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo and North Kivu province. This battle intensified a decades-long conflict, causing widespread suffering and destruction.
Despite the ongoing violence, Ipas DRC remained committed to supporting women and girls by providing essential sexual and reproductive health care.
Ipas-trained health providers worked 24 hours a day, seven days a week, delivering services such as abortion and family planning through Ipas-supported health centers and mobile clinics.
“The climate is not good, but the needs are still there, so we try to protect ourselves and the women who are facing violence,” shared Dusabe Francine, an Ipas-trained nurse who lived in the Bulengo refugee camp and worked in Ipas’s mobile clinic there.
