Last week, we watched something deeply alarming unfold.
Federal agents arrested Don Lemon — a journalist with 30 years of experience —
for covering a protest. That's it. That's what they're calling a crime now.

Attorney General Pam Bondi didn't hide it. She announced the arrest publicly,
charging him with interfering with First Amendment rights while he was literally
exercising his First Amendment rights.
Here's what makes this even worse: a federal judge had already reviewed the case
and refused to authorize the arrest, finding "no evidence" of criminal
behavior. So the administration simply went around that judge and got what they
wanted anyway.
If you're not alarmed yet, you should be.
When the government can arrest journalists for reporting the news, we're not
just losing press freedom. We're losing the ability to know what our own
government is doing. We're losing accountability. We're losing democracy itself.
This is exactly why PODF exists.
We fight back when those in power try to dismantle the constitutional
protections that hold our democracy together. But we can only do this work with
your support.

The guardrails are failing. The question is whether we'll let them collapse
entirely — or whether we'll fight back.
