New Movie: Jimpa
We’re proud to promote Jimpa, a heart-warming film about parenting, queerness, and family. Watch the trailer and find showtimes near you. ([link removed])
Synopsis: Filmmaker Hannah (Olivia Colman) takes her trans nonbinary teenager Frances (Aud Mason-Hyde) to Amsterdam to visit their gay grandfather, lovingly known as “Jimpa” (John Lithgow). When Frances expresses a desire to stay with Jimpa for a year abroad, Hannah is forced to reconsider her parenting beliefs and the stories she has long told about her family. As Jimpa faces the difficulties of aging as a gay man in a generation that never expected to grow old and Frances grapples with the disappointment of heroes falling short of their ideals, Hannah learns to navigate the differing perspectives of her father and her child. Inspired by her own experiences as part of a queer family, this intimate, authentic film from acclaimed filmmaker Sophie Hyde (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) is her most personal story yet. Told with empathy, humor, compassion, and joy, Jimpa celebrates the unique loves and challenges of a modern queer family across three generations.

February is Black History Month
In the words of Angela Davis, Black lesbian civil rights activist, philosopher, and writer: “Justice is indivisible. You can't decide who gets civil rights and who doesn't.”
This Black History Month, as every month, we rise in solidarity with our Black LGBTQ+ loved ones, and commit ourselves to the fight for intersectional justice.

Action Alert!
Last month, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed new rules ([link removed]) that would restrict transgender youth’s access to medically necessary care. One proposal would put Medicare and Medicaid funding at risk for hospitals that provide gender-affirming care to trans and nonbinary youth under 18. Another would block Medicaid and CHIP from covering this care for young people under 18 and 19. These proposals are not yet in effect, but they would cause serious harm if finalized.
We can push back by submitting public comments to CMS. Visit our guide submitting public comments ([link removed]) to learn how to take action—comments must be submitted by Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
