Late last year, Donald Trump ordered Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to rig Texas’ congressional districts to help Republicans build a firewall that could withstand a potential Democratic blue wave in 2026. 

The result was a gerrymander so ambitious that it flipped 5 Democratic seats to the GOP with the stroke of a pen. The conservative Supreme Court eventually approved their work, solidifying MAGA’s gains and encouraging further red state redistricting.

Now other red states have followed suit: North Carolina (+1 GOP), Missouri (+1), Ohio (+2), Utah (+1), and Florida (+4 GOP). 

The situation is dire, but we don’t have to take this lying down. We are fighting back — and using the slogan of Texas swagger and pride “Don’t Mess with Texas” as a rallying cry: We’re definitely gonna Mess with Texas.

Colorado Draws the Line is fighting to stop Trump from rigging the 2026 election by leading a statewide ballot initiative to redraw Colorado’s congressional districts, wiping away four GOP-held seats in Colorado and turning them blue for years to come.

We need to be honest, though: we’re taking a huge risk here that could easily backfire.

This isn’t a billionaire-funded initiative. This is true grassroots advocacy: the American People channeling their anger, frustration, and disappointment into action.
