John, the FBI raided a Georgia election center this week and seized thousands of ballots. [1]
It’s a profound violation of civic trust – federal actors who were never elected by Georgia voters
taking their ballots into custody. That’s not something that happens in a healthy democracy. Here’s what’s really going on:
You see, MAGA is pretending this is just another attempt to relitigate the 2020 elections, but I know you won’t fall for that. This move is 100% about 2026 – and their all-out push to sow chaos and distrust in this year’s midterm results.
Let’s be clear: there is no evidence of voter fraud, no recount underway, and no election being contested anywhere in the state of Georgia.
But when you look at the facts – 60% of Fulton County voters aren’t white – you can see the real game plan: scare Black and brown voters with the threat of federal agents so that they’ll stay home in November.
To Trump and the extremists whispering in his ear, anyone who isn’t already full MAGA isn’t a fellow American they need to persuade – but an internal enemy to crush by any means necessary.
And we know Georgia isn’t the first and won’t be the last state where they try these tactics. That’s the point: flood the zone and overwhelm us in hopes we give up, abandon our values, and hope we’re not next.
Common Cause isn’t going to allow it. Immediately, our Georgia organizers showed up to the scene to document this attack, show We The People are watching, plan for what comes next, and remind the Trump regime that they can’t get away with this.
John, I want you to know that whenever and wherever they come next, Common Cause stands ready to fight back: in the courts, at the legislatures, and at polling sites.
Our Election Protection team identifies hundreds of polling stations across the country where voters face the biggest risk of losing their rights. Then, they recruit, train, and dispatch thousands of nonpartisan volunteers to ensure voters can cast their ballots without obstruction, confusion, or intimidation.
Each volunteer can make all the difference for thousands of voters: offering a friendly face with trusted information, an advocate to solve problems, and a watchdog to report any wrongdoing to our nationwide network of voting experts so they can work with local election officials on a solution.
It costs about $50 to train and deploy one volunteer from early voting through Election Day. And I hope you’ll agree, everything we’ve seen so far this year tells me we’re going to need to field more of our volunteers than ever this November.
This is the most powerful thing you can do today to protect the 2026 midterms. If you’re able, can you sponsor a volunteer today?
If you've saved your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly:
Your gift today will help sponsor volunteers in key states like Georgia – people who will make the difference between having a voice and going home in frustration.
Thank you for your support,
The team at Common Cause
