On Jan. 23, Miami Dolphins alumni, Troy Drayton, and cheerleaders, joined staff from the organizations to surprise Alex Silva Jr. and his family at his residence with the news of the new roof (valued at $35,000). Nominated by the Wounded Warrior Project – a Miami Dolphins Football UNITES™ partner – Silva, a disabled veteran from Homestead, was able to select the color of the roofing before the team began working on his roof replacement.

Area Stage’s Inspire Theatre Project presents Guys and Dolls Jr., a Tony-award winning Broadway classic performed by neurodiverse actors, celebrating accessibility, artistic expression, and community partnership. This performance, taking place on Sunday, February 1st at Area Stage’s Black Box Theater, marks a new collaboration with the City of South Miami, following the City’s creation of its Unique Abilities Board. The board was established to expand accessibility initiatives and ensure residents of all abilities can fully participate in civic and cultural life.
