Good morning, and welcome to our Weekend
Update.
Earlier today, I joined the "Fox Report"
on Fox News to discuss the latest news. President Trump isn’t
fighting fire with fire. He’s fighting fire with water. He’s focused
on winning and restoring safety in cities where protests, lawlessness,
and a refusal to cooperate with federal law enforcement have taken
hold.
After tens of millions of illegal immigrants entered the country
under Biden, anyone pretending there isn’t a serious criminal element
mixed in is kidding themselves. The President is determined to clean
this up and keep his promise to the American people.
Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress are willing to shut down the
government to attack ICE, while radical liberal leadership like
Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner inflames rhetoric and protects failed
sanctuary policies. It’s all pain, no gain. We should be standing with
law enforcement, defunding sanctuary cities, and keeping the
government open.
Congress must pass these appropriations bills, and the upcoming
House votes will make clear who’s serious about reopening the
government and getting it back to work for the American people, and
who’s willing to gamble with public safety for political gain.

Earlier today, I joined Chuck Volpe for
an interview on the "Volpe Report" aired. I discussed what’s unfolding
in Minneapolis and other sanctuary cities across the country. When
Democratic leaders demonize federal law enforcement, shield illegal
criminals, and refuse to enforce the law, they create a dangerous
environment, not just for communities, but for the men and women on
the front lines working to keep our cities safe.
We also discussed President Trump’s leadership on the world
stage, particularly his decisive action in Venezuela and what it means
for America’s future. His approach strengthens America’s strategic
position by countering China’s influence, reinforcing energy
independence, and advancing the cause of freedom. What we are seeing
could be the beginning of a broader domino effect in Venezuela, Cuba,
and beyond, similar to how Former President Reagan’s leadership helped
bring down the Berlin Wall.

Senate Democrats tried to put politics
before working toward a solution.
While Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats
push to defund ICE, it only risks another Democrat-led government
shutdown. That would have also disrupted FEMA, LIHEAP, Head Start,
TSA, and other critical services just after a major winter storm.
The House has already passed all twelve
appropriations bills. The Senate, with the White House's support, has
followed suit and kept the government partially open, pending a House
concurrence vote on Tuesday. I joined Newsmax’s “Wake Up
America” earlier this week to discuss the ongoing negotiations. Click
here or below to watch.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry
Krasner, vowing to “hunt down” ICE agents, is the behavior of a
psychopath with a badge. Year after year, he fails to prosecute the
criminals who continue to plague the City of Brotherly Love. The
Left’s silence and, in many cases, encouragement of this rhetoric is
no different than when they claimed the border was secure while 40,000
people a day were crossing illegally. That is pure hypocrisy.
And where is Governor Shapiro? Where are
the Democrats? Will they denounce this inflammatory, irresponsible
rhetoric that only encourages hostility? Every responsible Democrat
must condemn this behavior. Failure to do so only increases the
temperature in an already volatile situation, endangering federal law
enforcement and communities alike.
In turn, Senate Democrats, using the same
reckless political playbook, are threatening to shut down the
government over federal law enforcement funding. They were willing to
shut down the government for 43 days over a health care policy that is
no longer a priority for them, hurting the American people for
nothing. No results. No gains. And now they are trying it again.
During my interview on Newsmax’s
“Newsline,” I discussed these topics and how, under President
Trump’s leadership, Trump Accounts give Americans real ownership.
Newborns are set to receive $1,000 at birth to start building
long-term savings. It’s a great idea that gives more Americans a real
stake in this country’s success. Click

What’s good for America is good for
Pennsylvania—and what’s good for Pennsylvania is good for America.
Opening up U.S.-backed investment in
Venezuela gives us leverage over China, helps stabilize global energy
markets, and puts downward pressure on energy prices, all while
domestic production here at home remains essential to powering
America’s growth.
Meanwhile, the Left continues to sow
disruption and chaos across the country. Instead of enforcing the law,
ending failed sanctuary policies in places like Philadelphia, and
addressing the real problems facing the American people, they are
prepared to shut down the federal government just to play politics. I
joined “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business to discuss. Click
here or below to watch.

It was great to join the RJ Harris
Breakfast Show earlier this week to discuss Minneapolis, immigration
enforcement nationwide, President Trump’s leadership abroad, the
future of Venezuela, and much more. Click

I joined the "Bob Cordaro Show" on
WILK Newsradio and further discussed the anarchist,
anti-American rhetoric coming from Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner, who
has repeatedly escalated tensions in the City of Brotherly Love. Click

This is American manufacturing dominance
in action. After four years of failed Democrat leadership, the U.S.
was falling short of its potential. Under President Trump, those days
are over. His America First agenda has pushed U.S. steel production
past Japan’s, delivering a clear win for Pennsylvania steelworkers and
American manufacturing.
Launching July 5, 2026, under President
Trump’s leadership, Trump Accounts will give families a head start.
Children born between December 31, 2024, and January 1, 2029, will
receive $1,000 at birth to start saving from day one.
This is a smart, common-sense plan that
helps working families get ahead, encourages saving early, and gives
the next generation a real stake in our country’s future.

President Trump made an excellent choice
in Kevin Warsh to lead the Federal Reserve, after months of vetting
incredible candidates, including Kevin Hassett, Chris Waller, and Rick
Rieder.
Warsh is a serious, credible choice who
understands the magnitude of the job ahead — Fed policy directly
affects mortgage rates, borrowing costs, and the price of everyday
goods.
President Trump has been clear about his
priorities: lowering costs, fighting inflation, and restoring
affordability, especially in the housing market. Kevin Warsh shares
that focus and understanding that you don’t fix the economy by
crushing it. You restore stability with a disciplined monetary policy
that supports growth rather than working against it.
With experience at the Fed, in the White
House, and in the private sector, Kevin Warsh understands how monetary
policy impacts real people, real businesses, and long-term economic
strength.
The Senate should move quickly to confirm
him so the Fed can refocus on its core mission and help our economy
grow to the benefit of all Americans.

With this winter storm leaving a lot of
snow across Pennsylvania, I want to share a few reminders to help
everyone stay safe... especially with the brutally cold
temperatures.
We’ve already lost several lives from
this storm due to people overexerting themselves while clearing snow.
Please take your time, rest when needed, and don’t push yourself too
hard. If you can, ask for or hire help instead of trying to do
everything on your own.
As cleanup continues, please check in on
neighbors who may need a hand, especially older adults or anyone who
is snowed in. And don’t forget your pets, as deep snow can be
confusing and disorienting for them. I’ve seen it happen with my own
dogs.
When roads are clear and it’s safe to
travel, our beautiful mountains are open. It’s a great opportunity to
enjoy the ski slopes and snowmobile destinations across our
Commonwealth. Stay safe, Pennsylvania!

On Tuesday, I met with the Shamokin–Coal
Township Joint Sewer Authority to discuss their need for critical
sewer upgrades.
The funding for these projects, which I
helped secure, has passed the House in the recent appropriations
package and is awaiting Senate passage. Once approved, it will improve
sewer treatment, protect local waterways, and strengthen the systems
the community relies on every day.
I’ll keep working in Congress to deliver
practical, high-impact investments for communities across
Pennsylvania’s 9th District.

While in Northumberland County, I visited
Sunbury Motors with Bob Garrett, President and CEO of the Greater
Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, and several local leaders to
hear firsthand how No Tax on Car Loan Interest, a key provision in the
Working Families Tax Cuts bill, is impacting local auto
dealerships.
Tom and Kyle Mertz, whose family has run
the dealership since 1915, shared how this policy will help their
customers and boost auto sales. Being able to deduct up to $10,000 a
year in interest on a new car loan from 2025 through 2028 means
families keep more of their hard-earned money while supporting jobs
tied to the manufacturing of American-made vehicles.
This is practical tax relief delivered by
Republicans and President Trump that helps families afford big
purchases, encourages domestic manufacturing, and supports
long-standing small businesses like Sunbury Motors across Northeast
and Central Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, our Constituent Social at the
Americus Hose Company in Northumberland County was a great success!
Thanks to everyone who braved the cold and snow to come out, share
what’s happening in your communities, and talk about the issues that
matter most to you & your families. And yes, Americus Hose Co.
might just have the best burgers on Earth... hard to top good
conversation and great food.
I was glad to be joined by Senator Lynda
Culver, State Rep. Joanne Stehr, Northumberland County Commissioners
Joseph Klebon and Sam Schiccatano, Montour County Sheriff William
McKenna, along with many local leaders, business owners, first
responders, and residents. We discussed local priorities, and I shared
my current work in Congress, focusing on combating financial fraud and
scams, expanding access to capital for Main Street, promoting American
energy independence, and supporting President Donald J. Trump's
America First agenda, which continues to deliver results for
hardworking taxpayers across the 9th District.
I look forward to continuing these
conversations as I work for the people of Pennsylvania’s
9th District.

Tuesday was International Holocaust
Remembrance Day, and we remember the six million Jews murdered in the
Holocaust and the millions of others who suffered under Nazi
persecution. We honor the victims, the survivors, and the families
forever changed.
This day is a reminder that antisemitism
and hate didn’t end with history. Even now, with the remains of the
last Israeli hostage finally brought home from Gaza under President
Trump’s leadership, we’re reminded to stand up to antisemitism and to
mean it when we say, Never Again.

This week, we also recognized National School
Choice Week. Every child deserves access to a quality
education, no matter their zip code. Families should have the freedom
to choose the school that best fits their child’s needs, whether
public, charter, private, online, or homeschooling.
That’s why I'll continue to support expanding school choice and
putting parents back in the driver’s seat.
ELECTION UPDATE:
First, I want to highlight President Trump's
endorsement of Stacy Garrity for Governor. I endorsed Stacy upon her
announcement, and I am pleased that she has President Trump's backing.
The campaign and support she is building will be critical to her
winning the White House.

As we begin our reelection campaign, we want to
share information on how to help us achieve our first goal: filing
nominating petitions.
The Commonwealth requires our campaign to collect
and file 1,000 signatures from Republicans living in the 9th
Congressional District.

Petition circulation runs from February 17th to
March 10th. If you would like to circulate or sign a petition, please
click here to contact our campaign. We greatly appreciate any and all
support with this mission.

May God continue to bless our nation. I look
forward to seeing you soon,
