John, incredible news this morning:
Trump won this district by 17 points in 2024. With almost all votes counted, Democrat Taylor Rehmet just flipped and won this district by 14 points – a 30 point swing!
Powered by People put everything we had into supporting Taylor Rehmet through voter outreach and getting folks to the polls in SD-09.
Here’s what we did to help Taylor win:
- Powered by People volunteers called and texted 30,000 voters in Taylor’s district in a bold and innovative Vote by Mail program.
- We activated nearly 1,500 voters in our network that we had personally met and in many cases registered to vote. In a low turnout election this was crucial.
- We raised resources for Taylor’s campaign to help their get out the vote operation in the weeks leading up to the election.
This is what happens when we fight on every front and concede nothing. And this is the fight we’re taking to every election on the ballot in 2026. Remember, we’ve helped recruit a Democrat to run in every state senate, state house district and congressional district in Texas history. We are going to press the advantage and stay on offense.
