It's risky to insure a state on the front lines of climate impacts like wildfires, heat waves, and floods. That's why rates are rising for millions of homeowners and renters in California.

And the real culprits, mega-rich corporate polluters, rake in profits from the crisis they created. They knew for decades that their fossil fuel products create unnatural disasters and drive up costs for regular people—and they lied about it to profit at our expense. 

Homeowners and renters are struggling to pay our bills, and we shouldn't be the only ones footing the cost of the crisis caused by billionaire polluters. Sign our petition to demand California leaders reduce insurance costs and make life in our state more affordable.

Between the ongoing loss of insurance options in California, years of rate increases, and costly rebuilding efforts from natural disasters, we're facing a rapidly escalating affordability crisis driven by climate change. 

More than 1 in 5 California homeowners are uninsured because of canceled policies and unaffordable premiums.¹ And when home insurance costs surge, landlords pass those hikes on to renters.

These aren’t distant problems. They’re showing up in our monthly bills, forcing impossible choices.

California families shouldn’t have to choose between keeping the lights on and protecting their homes. Will you take a stand to demand our state leaders hold Big Oil responsible for the insurance affordability crisis they created?

It's clear that Californians want policies that protect families over corporate polluters—and it’s time to make Big Oil pay their fair share for the damage they’re doing to our communities.
