John -- This is friendly reminder that Resource Generation Action (RGA), RG's newly launched c4 to support electoral justice, is hosting a webinar this Wednesday, July 29th, 2020 called "Class Privilege and Electoral Politics in 2020."
Thanks to those of you who have already registered! If you haven't yet...
Register for this webinar, Class Privilege and Electoral Politics, on Wednesday, July 29th 7-8:30pm ET/4-5:30pm PT here.
This webinar is free and open to anyone although it is tailored for people with access to class privilege and/or wealth.

The term Electoral Justice comes from organizer and Movement For Black Lives Leader Jessica Byrd, who uses the phrase to describe the electoral strategy that centers racial justice and is transformational rather than transactional.
Electoral justice demands that electoral cycles should leave multi-racial poor and working class communities stronger, more organized, and better resourced year-round. It is firmly rooted in the dignity and power already alive in these communities and seeks to transform the conditions, build the capacity and invest in leadership to make self-determination possible.
In this RG Action webinar, we'll discuss things like:
- What is the role of young people with access to wealth in advancing social & racial justice in electoral politics?
- How do we navigate the dual truths that our political system is deeply broken, and that the outcomes of 2020 elections will directly impact all of our lives, especially poor and working-class people of color?
- Knowing that wealthy people have an outsized share of power and control in the outcomes of elections, how do we as young people with wealth work against the agenda of the corporate elite and instead for the political power of poor and working-class people of color?
We don’t have all the answers, but we want to be in the questions and moving towards action together :) Register for the webinar here.
RG Action and this webinar will help our community support the electoral work necessary to advance the electoral strategies of our national campaign partners, Movement for Black Lives' Electoral Justice Project and the Center for Popular Democracy Action help the BREATHE Act and #PeoplesBailouts across the country.
Here's what's coming up for Resource Generation Action in the next few weeks and how you can get involved:
1. Check out RG Action's principles around electoral giving and FAQs.
2. Make an electoral giving plan and consider giving big to RG Action's movement partners, Center for Popular Democracy Action and/or the Movement For Black Lives' Electoral Justice Project!
3. Follow Center for Popular Democracy Action and Electoral Justice Project online and on social! They are advancing big things towards collective liberation :)
- The Movement for Black Lives' (M4BL) Electoral Justice Project just introduced the BREATHE Act, which is what the demand to Defend Black Lives looks like as federal policy; M4BL describes it as a “modern day civil rights act"!
- Center for Popular Democracy Action is focusing on continuing pressure around around the HEROES Act (the next round of stimulus) and fighting to have it uphold to the principles of the #PeoplesBailout. Senate Republicans are most likely going to try and pass some sort of bill this week and it’s crucial that we demand continuing the $600/week unemployment benefits and expanded resources for COVID testing and contact tracing; both are under threat by Trump and Mitch McConnell. Use the tools on the #PeoplesBailout site to tweet and email your Senators and representatives!
We hope that during this time as we approach national elections during the dual pandemics of COVID and racist state violence, we at RG Action are reaching out to fellow young folks with access to wealth to provide some connection and guidance on how we can side with poor and working-class social movements and fight the owning-class capture of the democractic process!
Hope to see you online :)
Onward,
The RG Action Team
