If you need a bit more information, let me explain. Together, we have worked to shatter the status quo and deliver change to Los Angeles. In my first term as mayor, we launched a first-of-its-kind initiative to reduce street homelessness, and for the first time ever, Los Angeles saw a sustained, consecutive decrease in street homelessness, even as other cities across the country saw increases. We took bold action to tackle affordability, accelerating the production of tens of thousands of new units of housing to bring down the cost of living for working families. We’re making our city safer by hiring more LAPD officers and launching innovative community safety strategies, including the new Office of Community Safety, and 2025 saw the lowest homicide rate since the 1960s. We stood up for Angelenos against politically motivated attacks from the Trump administration, organizing communities and leaders locally and nationally to protect our rights. And we’re building a healthier Los Angeles by implementing historic climate reforms, including the official elimination of coal-based electricity in our city. We’ve cemented a strong foundation for change. But we’re just getting started, and I’m counting on you to help us keep up the work.
