I’ll be upfront with you: in a moment, I’m going to ask you to

First, this is the start of the election year, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Only a handful of seats separate control of the House. If we want real accountability in Washington and real results for working families, we have to win races like CA-27.
Second, Proposition 50 changed our district overnight. Tens of thousands of new voters were added to CA-27, and many of them have never seen my name on the ballot. That means we have to start early, introduce ourselves, and earn their trust before Republicans define me first.
Finally, the GOP is already treating CA-27 like a top target and gearing up to come after me. Political experts at Sabato’s Crystal Ball still rank this race as one of the most competitive in the country, and we’re preparing for an onslaught of outside spending and attacks as the year goes on.
