John,

$600 a week.

That’s what the CARES Act allotted for people unemployed due to Covid-19, and Shelley Moore-Capito thinks it’s too much. She claims it’s encouraging people to stay on unemployment rather than go back to work. She looks forward to those benefits being rolled back on July 31 [[link removed]] because it’ll “push some of these folks” back into the workforce.

Help us get out-of-touch, privileged “leaders” like Capito out of office by supporting our people-focused campaign TODAY. [[link removed]]

Let’s unpack what Capito said.

First, there’s no such thing as getting rich from unemployment benefits. Sure, $600 a week is above the poverty line, but not by much.

Second, the U.S. leads the world in Covid-19 cases. Americans don’t want to stay on unemployment because they’re getting rich; it’s because they face a life or death choice in returning to work.

Chip in $10 so we can create an America where people don't have to face such terrible choices in the future. [[link removed]]

Capito doesn’t care about the people of West Virginia. She never has. She’s only ever cared about one thing: holding a seat bankrolled by corporate PACs that shell out millions to prevent programs that would be GOOD for Americans - ESPECIALLY during troubled times like these - such as Medicare For All and a living wage. She’s happily sold her vote, and the people of West Virginia have paid the real price of her greed.

Unlike Capito, my vote will never be for sale. I’ll only answer to the people.

But without the runway to keep up our digital campaign and reach every voter possible in these strange times, Capito might actually get another six years in the Senate. West Virginians and millions of their fellow Americans can’t afford another six years of her.

With your help, we will finally unseat Capito and protect West Virginians and every American. [[link removed]]
