James Santelle, former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, joined It’s The Democracy, Stupid with Edwin Eisendrath to discuss how the Department of Justice is abusing the power it has.
And of course, they responded to this morning’s alarming news that Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered the arrest of independent journalist Don Lemon and several others for their coverage of a protest at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“Please tell me, Pam Bondi, that some judicial officer overturned what happened before and issued an arrest warrant. If this is the case that Pam Bondi simply said, a la [Tom] Homan and other people, we don’t care what federal judges are doing. Bring him into custody. Maybe we’ll put together a complaint later on. Maybe we won’t. If that is what is happening, we have now moved into an entirely new area of constitutional violations.”
