Dear neighbor,

This was a hard week for America. As we face the challenges of this administration, the resilience and strength of our communities will always prevail. Because her willful misconduct continues to violate our constitution and federal law, I have called for the impeachment of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and I have been working with my colleagues on legislation and congressional oversight to hold ICE accountable and limit their excessive use of force.

I flew back home to the district and attended the Duarte Chamber of Commerce Mayor’s Breakfast, met with the Alzheimer’s Association, and joined the Covina Chamber at their 115th Annual Business Gala.

Another person was shot in Minneapolis by federal officers. We need to end the violence in our streets. ICE and CBP must halt their operations and leave Minnesota  and our communities, NOW.

Secretary Kristi Noem’s willful misconduct is violating the constitution and federal law and putting every single one of us in danger. Kristi Noem must go and that is why I signed on to a resolution, with over 160 of my colleagues, calling for her impeachment. Everyday she remains in office, she puts the safety and security of the American people at risk.

ICE cannot continue to abuse, harm, and kill people in our streets. I am working with my colleagues through legislation and congressional oversight to hold ICE accountable and limit their excessive use of force. We need to put an end to the violence against our neighbors and communities.

It was great to join the Duarte Chamber of Commerce for the Mayor’s Breakfast to welcome incoming Mayor Martin Del Campo and recognize all the hard work outgoing Mayor Garcia did for the city. Thank you to the Chamber and to our incredible leaders in public service for everything you do to make Duarte thrive.

This week, I met with the Alzheimer’s Association to discuss some of the ongoing initiatives to support the treatment and end of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Thank you to the Alzheimer’s Association and its partners for all of the work you do to support the research and quality care of our community facing this disease.

Thank you to the Covina Chamber of Commerce for hosting their 115th Annual Business Gala and congratulations to all of our amazing Covina businesses who were recognized for their excellence this year.
