Tomorrow is the special election for Senate District 9, and it’s our first
real chance this year to show what people-powered organizing can do in
Texas.

This runoff isn’t just about one race. It’s about whether we start 2026 on
offense with Democrats organizing everywhere, competing everywhere, and
winning where pundits say we can’t.

Right now, Democrats have real opportunities to flip seats and build
momentum across the state. But those wins don’t come from wishful
thinking. They come from organizers on the ground, volunteers registering
people, voters getting the information they need—and the resources to fuel

Take SD9. Tomorrow, Democrat Taylor Rehmet heads into a competitive runoff
in a district Donald Trump carried by more than 17 points last year.
Taylor is a veteran, a union leader, and a lifelong member of this
community. And last month, he finished first with 48% of the vote, beating
out two Republicans.

That’s what happens when organizing meets the moment.

Districts that were written off across Texas are now within reach because
voters are ready for leaders who actually reflect their values — and
