Village of Vinton $4 million sewer and water project groundbreaking

I’m proud to again have secured $4 million in transformational funding for our community. The Village of Vinton is using those funds to expand potable water in Vinton and connect fire hydrants, local businesses, and more to much-needed water infrastructure. I will continue to use my position on the Appropriations Committee to fight for our community and bring home the dollars needed to make critical projects a reality — projects that improve lives across our region.

Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award Event

I was so proud to celebrate Ms. Rebecca Nicole Guerrero and her selection for the Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award!

Great teachers don’t just teach subjects, they help students understand the world and their place in it. Ms. Guerrero brings the dedication and creativity that help students thrive.

Behavioral and mental health funding roundtable

Although the Trump administration reversed its decision to make its harmful cuts to behavioral and mental health funding, it did a lot of damage in the process. On Tuesday, I had a great meeting with many of our local organizations to hear about how this impacted them.

We cannot allow the White House to continue to play with our tax dollars or threaten the organizations that are making a difference for all of us.
