Dear Friend,
In case you missed it, I spoke with joined yesterday to chat through the ICE Out package of legislation me and Minority Leader Kendra Brooks just introduced in Council.
At a time when Donald Trump and his administration are using fear and violence to brutally target immigrant communities throughout the country, I felt it was important to be very clear about where Philly stands:
We believe in protecting our neighbors, keeping families together, and ensuring our city remains a place where all people feel safe and respected. We believe in due process, in following the law, and in governing with humanity and fairness. We know that public safety is built through trust – not fear.

This work is a top priority for me every day on City Council: pushing back against policies that would allow ICE to run lawlessly throughout our city, defending due process, and standing up for the values and people who make Philadelphia strong.
But we know this work cannot be done alone. We must continue organizing, showing up, and standing together to make clear that Philadelphia will not be bullied into abandoning its values.
If you’re able, I’m asking you to please consider making a contribution. Whether it’s $25, $50, $100, or $250, every dollar helps me continue and grow this fight for you and for all of our neighbors who are threatened by Donald Trump’s federal onslaught. [[link removed]]
Your support ensures I can keep advocating for Philadelphia and doing the work residents sent me to City Hall to do: investing in our communities and building a better Philadelphia.
While I was proud to show how Philly is showing up in the fight to protect Philly’s immigrant communities, this isn’t about headlines. It’s about showing up consistently for the entire city and making sure your voice is heard.
Thank you for your support and for believing in me and this city.
In Service,
Rue Landau
