DC’s refusal to get ice off the streets – the cold stuff, that is – has been obnoxious, to say the least. But we hope you’ve all managed to find a way to stay warm nonetheless as January comes to a close.
We opened the month with a report on private equity’s quiet takeover of cancer care in America (read it here). We laid out how states are fighting back – and how the federal government can help. We’ve had a positive response from relevant parties; if your office/member has ideas on how to help, reach out to us at [email protected].
We were also thrilled to host the first Bull Moose Institute event of the year, digging into if we can manage to protect kids online and, if so, how. We are particularly grateful to Evan Swarztrauber for moderating and to Ari Cohn and Joel Thayer for their spirited but courteous debate (and to everyone who trudged out in the cold). We’ll be hosting many more of these debates and discussions, so keep an eye out.
We were also excited to launch The New Outlook, a new publication dedicated to reinvigorating the American spirit. Be sure to subscribe – we’ve got lots of great writing in the pipeline. If you want to add your thoughts, send any ideas to [email protected].
