When Republicans delivered the Working Families Tax Cut to President Trump in July of last year, we knew that we had secured a monumental victory for the American people. This monumental victory would deliver lasting, positive results that would not only be seen, but also felt. This tax season is set to be the biggest one ever in terms of average refunds to hardworking taxpayers and families. Many people are talking about this, and surprisingly, the mainstream media is reporting the facts for once. Financial experts and economists agree that this law will lead to an unprecedented year of tax refunds that Americans will benefit from immensely.

Here are just a few headlines:

CBS News: “Total taxpayer savings could amount to an additional $50 billion through bigger tax refunds or a cut in their 2026 taxes.”

USA TODAY: “The average refund in 2025 was $2,939, IRS data showed. This year, refunds could be as much as 30% more due to new provisions from President Donald Trump’s mega tax and spending bill…”

CNBC: “Tax experts and analysts have agreed that many filers will see bigger refunds… ‘Overall, we’re expecting these changes to increase refunds by 15% to 20% on average,’ Heather Berger, a U.S. economist with Morgan Stanley said…”

And here’s more good news, according to a new study from the Tax Foundation, the Working Families Tax Cut will boost the United States’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the short and long terms, raise wages for hardworking Americans, and spur increased investment and capital expansion throughout the United States. Of course, there are many more significant wins that are part of this law that families and hardworking taxpayers are benefitting from. New Scam Alert

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey recently issued a new warning about scammers operating under the guise of contractors following the recent snowstorm that has affected the state. One of the more common tricks that these bad actors use is approaching homeowners with the offer of conducting a free roof inspection or other cosmetic work. As is often the case, these scammers will do cheapjack work and steal hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars from homeowners. These kinds of scams are far too common, and it’s important that you’re equipped with the facts to avoid them and protect your money.

A Piece of American History

In celebration of America’s 250^th anniversary, there’s a new and interactive exhibit making its way across North Carolina – and the entire nation – that features information about the birth of America’s independence. The Freedom 250 truck museum tour brings exhibits to schools, local libraries, and other venues to help highlight important events throughout our nation’s history. Recently, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, a dear friend and former colleague, led the launch of the Freedom Truck at Revolution Academy in Greensboro. This is such a wonderful idea, and I’m very much looking forward to hearing more of its success and travels.
