Virginia’s First Congressional District — Congressman Rob Wittman enters the
2026 election cycle in a commanding position after raising $615,000 to close
out 2025 and reporting $3,178,989 cash on hand - the largest war chest ever
assembled at this stage in Virginia’s First Congressional District.



The record breaking support comes as Virginia Democrats’ mid-decade
redistricting scheme collapsed in court this week. The Tazewell Circuit Court
struck down Democrats’ rushed and unconstitutional attempt to redraw
congressional maps for partisan gain - a blatant power grab designed to benefit
national Democratic interests at the expense of Virginia voters.



“Virginians see exactly what’s happening,” said Wittman. “While Democrats
focus on backroom redistricting schemes and rewriting the rules to protect
themselves, supporters across the Commonwealth are rallying behind proven
leadership. This record-breaking support sends a clear message: the First
District wants serious representation that puts families and taxpayers first.”



Democrats in Richmond attempted to override the independent redistricting
reforms voters approved and push through a mid-cycle rewrite of the maps. The
court’s ruling is a decisive rebuke of that effort and a clear affirmation that
elections should be decided by voters, not by politicians drawing new lines
when the political winds shift.



With Democrats’ redistricting strategy halted and a historic financial
advantage in place, Wittman is prepared to aggressively defend Virginia’s First
District and continue delivering conservative results.
