FBI All Over Fulton County Election Coverup
What Fulton County officials have been hiding behind closed doors for over five years we don’t know, but they have expended enormous effort to keep investigators from seeing ballots from the 2020 election. The FBI has lost patience. Fox News: The search warrant that FBI agents executed Wednesday at an election hub in Fulton County, Georgia, authorized the seizure of election records, voting rolls and other data tied to the 2020 election, according to a copy of the warrant reviewed by Fox News. The FBI’s search of the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center in Union City, Georgia, appears to be the most public indication to date that the bureau could be pursuing an investigation into complaints of voter fraud in the 2020 election. Fulton County is the most populous county in Georgia and includes the capital city of Atlanta. It most notably emerged as ground zero for voter fraud complaints in the wake of the 2020 election, though the claims did not survive court scrutiny. ( Fox News) In recent months, Fulton County has admitted to many irregularities in 2020 that affected hundreds of thousands of ballots, but there may be more to find.

Minnesota DHS Whistleblower Goes Public
In recent weeks we have learned that there are a number of whistleblowers from Minnesota’s Department of Human Services, but their identities have yet to be revealed. Now, one has gone public. City Journal: CJ: Did this culture at DHS help facilitate fraud? FB: It definitely did. Where we are today is completely predictable from where we were in 2019. There was no other way for this to go. The handwriting was on the wall. Until only about a year ago, our whistleblower policy required us to report internally; that did not comply with the law. The only reason [DHS had that policy] was so that they could find out who was reporting. [Ed: DHS did not respond to a request for comment by deadline.] For example, I reported something to the director of our internal audits, and he immediately went to the person that I had reported. I know he did that, because it was on email. He responded back to me, cc’ing the person I was reporting. He totally outed me. CJ: Do you remember the details of that? FB: A lot of people in DHS are state employees, but there are periods of time when those employees are paid by a federal grant. In those periods, we had to fill out two time sheets: our regular time sheet, to get paid by the State of Minnesota, and a second time sheet, which was how much of our salary was paid by the federal government under a particular grant. After I started speaking out too much, DHS removed all my job duties associated with this federal grant, but I was instructed to fill out that time sheet so that the federal government would continue to pay my salary. CJ: Who instructed you to do that? FB: The director of the Behavioral Health Division. ( City Journal) So it appears that, as the DHS tolerated fraud in its recipients, it also committed fraud upon the federal government. Much more at the link.

Is Ilhan Omar’s Grift Unraveling?
Ilhan Omar is, allegedly, one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington. Some say she is the mafia boss who helped start the Somali fraud ring in Minnesota, and she certainly has seen her reported wealth skyrocket in recent years. David Strom: I have kept an eye on the Ilhan Omar rapid wealth gain story, but there has been so much to write about and so little hard data that I haven’t gotten around to writing about it. By now you have likely heard about her rapid—as in rocket-speed—rise in wealth, although due to federal reporting requirements, the range within which her net worth is measured is millions of dollars, so no precise percentage increase is out there. But let’s just say that in terms of rapid rises, Nancy Pelosi would be quite impressed. The commonly floated numbers are a rise from about $15,000 net worth to about $30 million. A major part of that growth in wealth has been the rapid rise in the valuation of a sketchy “winery” from a few thousand dollars to a whopping $5 million to$15 million, despite having (perhaps) released few wines and, in recent years, none at all. Its locations appear to be empty buildings, its wines are unavailable, and once attention was turned to its sketchy nature, all the information about it disappeared from the internet. ( Hot Air)

Internet Flooded with AI Photos of Alex Pretti…and Dick Durbin Brings Them to the Floor of the Senate
In the age of artificial intelligence, it surprises none of us that AI images of Alex Pretti flooded the internet after his death became a political football. But few of us would have expected that a top US Senator would try to pull one over on us from the well of the Senate. Legal Insurrection: Notice anything? Um, the agent on his knees does not have a head. How did anyone on his staff not notice anything? The first thing I noticed was the agent with no head! How do you miss it when you blow up the photo!? Then again, the staff probably knows that nothing matters and anything that comes after won’t gain traction. The first part, whether it’s news or photos, always goes viral while any corrections or people pointing out the misinformation lurk in the background. No one cares about facts. No one cares about the truth. We live in a society (you must say that like George in Seinfeld) with an obsession for drama and a facts-later mindset. ( Legal Insurrection)

Tim Walz: Put a Fork in His Political Career
Tim Walz had a meteoric rise from relative obscurity as the governor of a smallish state to national prominence, thanks to the always-brilliant political instincts of Kamala Harris. Now, in classic Greek tragedy fashion, the mighty man has fallen as fast as he rose, and landed with a thud. NBC News: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said Wednesday that his time as an elected official will permanently end when he finishes his term as governor. “I will never run for an elected office again. Never again,” Walz, the 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee, said in an interview with MS NOW. Walz had said this month that he would not seek re-election as governor — sending shock waves through state and national politics — but he did not go so far as to say he would not consider another elected position down the line. In explaining his decision Wednesday, Walz talked about the scenes unfolding in Minneapolis between residents and federal officers. He said he found that there are “heroes on the streets that we don’t know their names.” “They’re never going to run for office, and those grass-tops leaders brought this administration to their knees this week to do something about it. So there’s other ways to serve, and I’ll find them,” he said. ( NBC News) It shocks us all that such a political talent will leave the scene so soon.

Tottering Iranian Regime Executing Doctors Now
The Iranian regime is clinging to power and using every tool at its disposal to maintain its grip. As casualties from the crackdown flood into hospitals, the regime is punishing anybody who helps the injured. National Union for Democracy in Iran: The Islamic Republic has sentenced surgeon Dr. Alireza Golchini to death after arresting him during Iran’s national uprising. His “crime” was treating protesters wounded by the regime. Not even doctors honoring their medical oaths are spared in the regime’s war on Iranians. ( X)

Stephen Colbert Says that ICE Is Worse Than Nazis
Uh, what? Benny Johnson: Stephen Colbert’s show should be canceled IMMEDIATELY for openly saying this on Live TV: “Do not compare ICE or Border Patrol agents to the Nazis. That’s an unfair comparison. The Nazis were willing to show their faces.” Actually insane. Watch the video. ( Benny Johnson on X)

Homan Trying to Cut a Deal With Frey and Walz
Cynics are skeptical that Tim Walz and Jacob Frey really want to turn down the heat in Minnesota, but Tom Homan is doing his best to cut a deal. Ed Morrissey: Homan wants to dial down the rhetoric and the temperature. Armchair revolutionaries like Walz and Frey probably want to back down a bit now that the violence has become real, and now that it has become apparent that they can’t throw tantrums to get their way. Let’s see if the radicals with whom they’ve allied themselves are willing to dial anything down. Addendum: Credit where due – the Associated Press reported on Homan’s point pretty accurately: President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan said Thursday that the number of immigration enforcement officers in Minnesota will be reduced only after cooperation from state officials, and that he has “zero tolerance” for protesters who assault his officers or impede their work. …Homan doubled down on the need for local jails to alert Immigration and Customs Enforcement to people in their custody whom ICE can remove from the country, and that transferring immigrants to ICE while they’re still in jail is safer for the officers and means they aren’t out on the streets. Homan said that would mean fewer officers have to actually be out on the streets looking for immigrants in the country illegally. Bottom line: Want fewer ICE and CBP agents in Minneapolis? Don’t obstruct us in ways that force us to deploy more agents. Pretty simple math … ( Hot Air, Associated Press)

Democrats Angry That FCC Will Limit Phone Subsidies to Living People
The federal government provides “lifeline” subsidies to low-income people to ensure access to phones, but it turns out that a lot of dead people get the subsidy, especially in California. The FCC is looking to tighten regulations to eliminate fraud, and Democrats are angry about it. Brendan Carr: You can’t make it up. The FCC will vote on requiring that federal subsidies flow only to people that are both living and lawful beneficiaries. Dems oppose. ( Brendan Carr on X) ( Law 360)

Is Trump About to Drop the Hammer on Iran?
Duane Patterson isn’t exactly predicting that Trump will bomb Iran this weekend, but isn’t exactly not predicting it either. Duane Patterson: It’s January 29th. Donald Trump has shown a propensity for taking kinetic action on weekends. Remember a little bit ago when I said it was 47 years since Khomeini stepped off the plane in Tehran? That date was February 1st. The anniversary is Sunday. Wouldn’t that be poetic to begin destroying the regime on the same day it was ushered in all those years ago? Will it begin with a blockade to keep Iran from exporting any oil, literally starving them to death of cash and refined gasoline? Will the strike consist of pinpoint strikes on leadership positions, including a decapitation strike against Ali Khamenei? Will there be a cyber component to take away the ability of the mullahs to exercise command and control? The funny thing is the Israelis have already made communications harder for Iran now because of what they did last summer. The people of Tehran are ready for a change. They just can’t affect that change with their bare hands. That’s where the will of Donald Trump and the American military come in. With the assets in place, it shouldn’t take long to allow the Iranian populace to serve as the ground force to finish off the regime once and for all. ( Hot Air)
