The FBI just raided the Fulton County, Georgia, election offices and seized boxes of ballots and vote tabulations related to the 2020 election.

Fulton County is the home to Atlanta and one of the biggest Democratic areas in the state. It was also the focal point for Trump’s debunked election rigging conspiracy theory in the state.

Evidence has shown time and time again that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election in Georgia. Yet he just weaponized the FBI five years later to resurrect his big lie.

The timing isn’t a coincidence. As Trump’s popularity plummets and MAGA faces a reckoning at the polls in 2026, Trump is searching for a way to rig the upcoming midterms by any means possible.

Now with Fulton County’s ballots and tabulation data in FBI custody, there is no way for the County to dispute any claims made by the administration, which will allow Trump to manufacture a pretext for future election related actions.

This is how democracies collapse.

Democrats must double down on efforts to defend and expand liberal majorities on state Supreme Courts in key states. These courts are the barrier to Trump’s most insidious election rigging plots. The control over how elections are administered lies with states, not the federal government.

To secure future elections and ensure fairness, we cannot have Trump judges in place on key swing state courts that could issue decisions in favor of MAGA in states where it matters most.
