I wanted to take a moment to give you an honest update about where things stand in this campaign. I’ve got some good news to share, and a bit of bad news.
The good news:
We’ve already flipped this seat once. We beat Anthony D’Esposito head-to-head in one of the closest races in the country. We know what it takes to win here because we’ve done it before.
The bad news:
I defeated D’Esposito by just 2 points last time around … and he’s preparing to run again. Republicans believe this is their best pickup opportunity and they are pouring money in this race.
That’s why I need to show real grassroots strength right now.
