On November 8th, 2022, after a difficult, expensive, and hard-fought reelection campaign, I called my opponent to offer my concession and congratulations.

The national environment was unfavorable to Democrats, especially in frontline districts like VA-02. On top of that, the powerful people behind the Capitol attack spent millions of dollars targeting me because I served on the January 6th Committee.

I lost that election. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. Yet I’ve never second-guessed the sacrifices I made, nor the decisions that led me there. 

For me, the worst outcome isn’t losing a fight; it’s going down with no fight at all.

Now, I'm running in a toss-up race against my former opponent Jen Kiggans because I can no longer sit on the sidelines and watch our country descend into chaos.

Our survival as a free nation depends on countering this administration, so believe me when I say I’m going to put up one hell of a fight to win this race.

Recent victories in Virginia show that conditions are more favorable than four years ago; however, flipping an R+3 district will still be an uphill battle. My team and I are building a formidable campaign operation and we need your help to build an equally formidable war chest.
