Why we are 350: Scientists overwhelmingly agree that 350ppm CO2 is the upper limit to sustain life as humans have lived it. For more than 800,000 years atmospheric CO2 varied between roughly 180 to 280ppm.

   Our Earth passed 350ppm CO2 during 1988!

Protect Port Washington from the Vantage Data Center:
Canvass to Recall Mayor Neitzke

Saturday, Jan. 31, 12 Noon - 4 PM

On Saturday, January 31st, join us in Port Washington as we help Great Lakes Neighbors United (GLNU) knock doors and collect signatures for their campaign to recall Mayor Neitzke.

🕛 WHEN: Saturday, January 31st, 12:00 - 4:00 PM (full shift not required)

📍WHERE: 902 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington

🗓️ SIGN UP HERE so we know how many to expect (drop-ins OK too)

Great Lakes Neighbors United is a local grassroots organization working to protect residents from a massive AI data center in Port Washington. At full development, the 3.3 GW facility would require more electricity than all Wisconsin homes combined, passing enormous costs onto residents and accelerating fossil fuel usage at a pivotal time for climate change.

Residents say Mayor Ted Neitzke has held negotiations behind closed doors, approved tax incentives for the data center, and disregarded community concerns about affordability, quality of life, and the environment. As developers seek to move forward, those in Port Washington fighting this proposal believe it is critical to recall Mayor Neitzke and support leaders who will listen to their community.

GLNU only has a few weeks left to collect the necessary signatures to get the recall on the ballot and are in need of more people power. Join members of 350 Wisconsin Action, along with our friends from Third Act Wisconsin, as we talk with Port Washington residents about leaders that will prioritize our communities and our planet over corporate interests.

Gather with us at noon every Saturday to make our voices heard.

Together, we stand for justice, equality, and change, reminding those in power that we will not be silent. Bring your energy, your signs, and your friends. Let’s raise our voices, week after week, until real change is won.

Dress for the weather. Bring your cellphone, water, hats & gloves, umbrella, sunscreen, and a chair if you need one. Bring a sign (use bold, large lettering, so your sign can be read by moving traffic, 2-5 words) or borrow one from our community.

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
