This may sound strange, but I've been having a great time since Day #1 of this campaign.

And all I can say about the last few weeks is: Wow!

I chose to take on the establishment. I chose to reject status quo, quid pro quo politics. I chose to run a campaign based on issues, rather than poll-tested talking points.

But I never expected how many San Diegans, community leaders, and neighbors are ready to run with me.

I'm ready for the "independent expenditure attacks" funded by the special interests who support my opponent.

I'm ready for Sacramento political money being funneled into a San Diego mayoral campaign.

And I'm ready to stand up to the insiders who don't want an independent woman like me standing up for our neighborhoods.

It's no secret that we've ruffled the feathers of political insiders.

That's why I'll be taking my campaign to neighborhoods across San Diego – to hear from people who live outside the bubble of petty politics.
