Email from Rep. Mann Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, I hope you are staying warm as frigid temperatures continue to cover our state. I am traveling across the Big First this week meeting with Kansans and hearing about the issues that are top of mind for you. If you would like more information on what I am working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov Celebrating Kansas Day This Kansas Day, we honor the people, the history, and the values of the state I am proud to call home. On January 29, 1861, Kansas entered the Union as the 34th state, born in a moment of national tension and moral clarity. We entered as a free state, standing firmly against the spread of slavery and affirming the principle that freedom belongs to all. That commitment to liberty and human dignity remains central to who we are. Kansas has helped shape the course of our nation—from settling the prairie and building strong communities through hardship, to leading in aviation, education, and infrastructure. Few embody our state’s legacy better than Dwight D. Eisenhower, whose Kansas values of humility, discipline, and responsibility guided his leadership over our nation through war and peace. On this Kansas Day, we celebrate a state built on freedom, perseverance, and service. We recommit ourselves to the values that have carried Kansas forward for 165 years: faith, family, hard work, and responsibility to one another. I am proud to represent the Big First District, and I am proud to call Kansas home. Speaking at National Association of Realtors Conference Last week, I spoke on a panel during the National Association of Realtors’ Advocacy Week in Washington, D.C., alongside my fellow Real Estate Caucus co-chairs, Reps. Alford, Correa, and Pettersen. As a former commercial real estate agent, I’ve seen firsthand how federal policy affects housing supply, financing, and the ability of families and small businesses to put down roots. That experience continues to shape my work in Congress. Housing is one of the most bipartisan issues on Capitol Hill, and the Real Estate Caucus is focused on practical solutions that expand supply and restore affordability. We discussed legislation like the More Homes on the Market Act and the Saving the American Dream Act, both of which aim to reduce federal red tape, modernize the tax code, and make homeownership more attainable. I’m grateful for the partnership with Realtors across the country as we work to deliver real progress for homebuyers and communities. Honoring the Lives Lost on American Eagle Flight 5342 One year ago today, American Eagle Flight 5342 departed Wichita, Kansas, bound for Washington, D.C., and ended in heartbreak when it went down over the Potomac River. Sixty-seven lives were lost—fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, friends, teammates, and colleagues. Many were Kansans, carrying with them dreams and plans for the future that will never be fulfilled. Behind each name is a family and a community forever changed by this tragedy. Today, we pause to honor their memory, lift up the families who continue to grieve, and recommit ourselves to ensuring our skies are safer for every American. May their lives be remembered, may their families be comforted, and may we never forget the responsibility we carry to protect the lives entrusted to us.
