We’ve seen this before. At no time in human history has rounding people up and forcing them into a camp been a good idea, but that is exactly what Utah and the Trump administration are trying to do. Utah has asked the federal government to help pay for a massive, government-run, taxpayer-funded homeless detention camp—but we still have time to stop it.
Housing Not Handcuffs is hosting a National Organizing Call to launch a new campaign: No Federal Funds for Homeless Detention Camps. We’re pleased to share that Congresswoman Delia Ramirez (IL-03) and Congressman Maxwell Frost (FL-10) will be able to join us. We’ll also hear from folks on the ground in Utah, as well as leaders in mental health, immigrant rights, and legal advocacy.
