__________
THE EURO LEFT’S LOST DECADE
[[link removed]]
_Vladimir Bortun_ / Tribune (London)
Ten years ago, insurgent parties across southern Europe were elected
on promises to transform capitalism. Their failure offers lessons the
contemporary left cannot afford to ignore.

__________
DEFEND CUBA!
[[link removed]]
_Monika Mokre_ / transform! Europe (Vienna)
Cuba faces its deepest crisis since 1959 – now compounded by the
escalating crisis in Venezuela. Intensifying US pressure,
international dependencies, and growing inequality raise urgent
questions of solidarity.

FARMERS MARCH TO MUMBAI
[[link removed]]
_Zeeshan Shaikh and Ashok Dhawale_ / The Indian Express (Noida, India)
The CPI(M) has launched a long march of thousands of farmers from
Nashik to Mumbai to protest the non-implementation of assurances made
after the 2018 Kisan Long March and against policies it says favour
corporate interests.
__________
THE MISSING VOICES OF WESTERN SAHARA
[[link removed]]
_Zahra Rahmouni_ / Africa is a Country (New York)
No amount of intimidation, geopolitical calculations, or dominant
media narratives will completely silence Sahrawi voices. And, more
importantly, as long as they remain excluded from decisions shaping
their future, no lasting solution can be found for the Western Sahara.
__________
LGBTQ RIGHTS CHALLENGED IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
[[link removed]]
_Simón Rodríguez_ / NACLA (New York)
On November 18, the Dominican Republic’s Constitutional Court (TC)
published ruling 1225-25, which formally ended the criminalization
of same-sex sexual relations in the country. The reaction of religious
and political sectors aligned with the government to the ruling was
immediate.
__________
A STANDOUT IN CANADA’S NDP LEADERSHIP RACE
[[link removed]]
_Adam D.K. King_ / The Maple
The race to elect a new federal New Democratic Party leader is down to
its final two months. The party will select its next leader at its
2026 convention in Winnipeg, between March 27 and 29. Avi Lewis has
presented a platform that emphasizes affordability and workers'
rights.
__________
SPANISH STRIKERS SHOW HOW TO BEAT AMAZON
[[link removed]]
_Jonathan Rosenblum_ / Truthout (Sacramento)
Amazon workers in Murcia, in southeastern Spain, struck twice at the
RMU1 fulfillment center during the 2025 holiday “peak” season and
forced the company into a negotiated settlement in late December. The
strike was organized and led by a feisty, class-struggle-oriented
rank-and-file committee of the Confederación General del Trabajo, or
CGT, one of four unions at RMU1.
