John,
Our longtime partner in Germany is taking a landmark case against Bayer to
the European Court of Human Rights — and they need our help.
We're living in a moment when corporations are increasingly abusing the
law to chip away at our democratic rights. And Bayer is pushing the
limits, trying to shut down peaceful protests where it matters most — in
public, near its annual shareholder meeting.
Now is our chance to rein them in.
If enough of us chip in, we can help fund this lawsuit and power a
people-powered movement to stop corporations like Bayer from setting the
rules about when and where we can exercise our basic democratic rights.
The legal argument is solid. It's a winnable case that could have far
reaching impact across Europe — but this is a small organisation up
against Bayer's legal team.
Can you chip in now to defeat Bayer in court and help us rein in
out-of-control corporations?

For years, Coordination Against Bayer Dangers (CBG) has organised peaceful
protests at Bayer's annual shareholder meetings, giving communities
affected by toxic pesticides a chance to speak directly to shareholders
and executives about the real-world harms they've experienced.
Bayer has been working to shut these protests down. They've gone as far as
citing "security concerns" and invoking "terrorist threats" to block
gatherings in public squares near their shareholder meetings.
And when our partner fought back in German courts, it was Bayer's lawyers
who showed up. Bayer's legal team literally wrote the state's legal
defence!
Their best course of action now is to take this case where it belongs: the
European Court of Human Rights. They've secured a brilliant lawyer who's
won major rights cases like this before. Now all they need is enough funds
to see this lawsuit through to the end, no matter what Bayer's lawyers
throw their way.
Can you chip in any amount to help defeat Bayer in court and defend our
democratic rights against out-of-control corporations?

Your donation will help power Ekō and our campaigns worldwide fighting for
people and the planet.
When corporations harm people and nature, we need to be able to gather,
speak out, and demand change. If we lose these rights, we lose our
collective power.
Thanks for all that you do,
Yasmin and the Ekō team
